UPDATE 7/12/2010
Long time no update sorry. I've been busy keeping up with work, HQ's demands and the picnic/training. We should have a nice turnout of about 50 for the picnic. I look forward to seeing everyone and will miss those that can not attend (I understand)
Our next mtg after the picnic is Thur Sept 16th. Our team is growing nice an steady but we could still use some clinicians. If anyone has a potential applicant please have them email joindmatny4@aol.com This system is working nicley and allows us to track the applicants through the process.
I just finished working on our mid year team report. We are progressing but need to catch up on a few items. I will be sending out some emails where needed to keep us on track. I would especially like to thank those that completed the 10 Responder E-Learn sessions currently available and those that started the process. I realize everyone has a busy schedule but these are required and it provides a reason to sit in the AC and stay cool.
Our AO Desiree' will be canvassing everyone in the next few weeks for our September on call month. Please be reminded we are required to roster a full team. Hopefully we'll have quiet season but we should all be ready to go if neeed.

UPDATE 6/7/201
e have all returned from the 2010 Summit where our Member of the Year Glen Kay MD was recognized, Congratulations once again!.There were many sessions and mandatory meetings to attend and I beleive we did well.
With the Summit over we need to move on and prepare for our team evaluation. I will be providing an update to HQ's on our status sometime in June or July they have not provided a date yet. I know I sound like a broken record but we need everyone's help in bringing all members up to speed on the Responder E-Learn system. I would like to thank those members that have completed all sessions as well as those that started the process. A few of our members have also reached out to assist fellow team members in completing the sessions.
I will also be reaching out in the next few days to coordinate the Team picnic scheduled for July 18th at the Haverstraw Bay Park. If you have something you would like to contribute please let me know. I will be asking everyone to bring something. We also need an accurate head count so we know what we need. Please be reminded this is for you and your family.

UPDATE 5/11/2010
Been a hectic few weeks but I wanted to provide a brief update and remind everyone our next scheduled mtg is next week Thurs 5/20 at 7:00 pm. We will be receiving a brief update on status as well as a Safety overview. I will also be asking some members that attended our FTX to share some thoughts and lessons learned.
There was a slight change in Summit plans due to the selected hotel and city being under water. We are working on the reuired paperwork to change everyone over to the new Summit location in June.
We will also be welcoming some new members.
UPDATE 4/23/2010
We've been busy with alot of paperwork and follow up from the FTX. Our AAR was submitted and received. My next task is reviewing our submitted goals and objectives and preparing a report that will be submitted at the Summit. I am confident that everyones hard work will pay off.
I will be reviewing the Responder E-Learn system next week to update our records. If you have completed all 10 sessions recently and your name is not listed on the Honor role under training drop me an email I have to wait until the next system update to catch recent course completions. At this point I would like to think everyone has completed a session.
I have also confirmed our permit to use Haverstraw Bay Park for our next picnic. Please save Sunday July 18th from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm more info and directions will follow. Please be reminded we encourage everyone to bring their family.
We have several new members in the application process and look forward to their deployability. Please keep up the good work and refer any potential new member to www.joindmatny4.com so we can follow up and bring them on board.
UPDATE 4/13/2010
Well we're back and we did the team proud. Everyone gave 110% and we met the challenge. I beleive we were the best team there. I'm sure the members will be sharing stories and experiences and I will attempt to post some photo's in the near future.

I want to thank the members listed on the honor roll under training for taking the time tocomplete all available sessions. I will be sending out status emails to the rest of the team.

UPDATE 3/27/2010 -
We have almost completed another on call month and I want to thank all the members for your committment. Please be reminded that we will also need to roster for June, Sept and Dec.
Our recruitment effort is still moving forward. I would like to send out a special thanks to our new members who are still in the process of becoming deployable. The process has experienced several delays due to the Haiti repsonses and thier patience is appreciated.
We are still actively recruiting most clinical positions if you have anyone interested please have them contact us through joindmatny4@aol.com they should include their name, license/certification and phone number. You can also refer them to look at the website for basic information.
Our next mtg is in May and I am working on securing the area for our July picnic/mtg. More info on July will follow
Kim
UPDATE 3/11/2010 -
There are still limited resources in Haiti the majority are DMORT. They anticipate completing the detail by 3/31.
Chile has not made a formal request to HHS for DMAT .
They are watching the Red River Floods out west so we will continue to monitor. We are on call until 3/31.
We are still collecting names for our FTX. The majority of our members have responded. If you have not please do so now as we are short a few members. So those that responded with a no if there are any changes in your ability to attend please let us know. We will be graded on the excercise so it is important we have a good showing. I am confident that the members scheduled to go will do us proud but it would be nice to distribute the work load over a full contingent. Send availabilty to leoned@co.rockland.ny.us
I also would request all members to participate in the Responder E-Learn system. Directions to access the system can be found under training. Currently we have 26 of the potential 76 members participating. Of the 26, 15 have completed all sessions currently available. I will be posting an Honor Roll under our training area listing the members who have completed all sessions available.
UPDATE 3/7/2010 - Still working on FTX Roster
We are still working on filling our roster for the FTX scheduled 4/5-11. Please contact Desiree at leoned@co.rockland.ny.us if you have not already done so. This will be USERRA covered and once we are able to submit our roster letters for employers will be generated. We're not sure how often we will have the opportunity to particpate as there are limited trainings and over 60 teams. We are one of six selected for this one. It is also fully funded and housing will be dormatory style. From what I under stand it is a private room and two rooms share one bathroom (alot nicer than a tent or the ground). This training also gives us the chance to work together and discover our stengths and weakness's.
Also of importance is a reminder of our next team meeting scheduled for 7:00 pm Thurs 3/18 at the Fire Training Center in Pomona. Please contact dmatny4@aol.com if you are unable to attend.
Thank you as always for everyone's effort. We have come a long way in a short time. I look forward to working with everyone.
Kim

EARTHQUAKE IN CHILE & TEAM UPDATES - March 1st 2010
As mentioned in previous communications I will be utilizing the team site more for updates
As I am sure you are aware Chile and the Pacific is now on the radar. There is a significant potential for aftershocks and Tsunamis. Chile has made requests for international assistance but it has yet to be fully defined. While no official request has been made we will continue to monitor our potential for a mission. They have now expanded the nightly call to include updates on this situation.
With our on call month starting tomorrow Mon March 1st, I am requesting all members that have made themselves available please keep us up to date with any changes in your status. Those that were not available please update us if your status changed.
We had several members in various stages of obtaining a passport or renewing. If you have recently received it please let us know. Also if you have recently renewed any licenses or certifications please forward a copy so your file can be updated.
I continue monitoring the nightly calls regarding Haiti. At this time they are winding down and transitioning existing sites to NGO’s DMORT continues to function and they have been able to identify and return citizen remains.
Thank you to all members that provided their uniform information to Carol as requested. If you have not responded please do so now. If you're on call and in need of a uniform please make the arrangements ASAP.
Our recruitment efforts are working but we are still in need of Respiratory Therapist/Technicians. If you have anyone in mind please have them email joindmatny4@aol.com. Also visit Commander's Corner for recrutment info,
We will have some training opportunities coming up in the future. As soon as I have more information or confirmed dates I will reach out to everyone.
